Discovery Day: what to expect

The in-person meeting where you and the franchisor decide if it is a fit.

Discovery Day (sometimes Confirmation Day) is when you visit the franchisor, meet the team, and both sides confirm the fit. Treat it as a two-way interview.

What happens

You will tour the headquarters, meet leadership and support staff, walk through operations and training, and review the economics in more detail.

Questions worth asking

How much support do new owners actually get in year one? What separates your top units from the strugglers? What is your franchisee turnover and why? How do you handle territory disputes? What is on the product or system roadmap?

What they are evaluating

They are gauging your seriousness, fit, and follow-through. Show up prepared, having read the FDD and spoken to current franchisees.
